The Montreal Canadiens’ prospect pool has earned plenty of praise in recent years, and this week it added another major highlight. One of the team’s most promising young talents has officially cracked The Hockey News’ list of the top 100 players aged 21 and under.

Goaltender Jacob Fowler has surged to No. 43 in Ryan Kennedy’s rankings — a placement that reflects just how quickly he’s rising and how impactful he could be for the Canadiens’ future.

Fowler, just 21, is already making noise at the pro level with the Laval Rocket in the AHL. Through 11 games this season, he’s posted a strong 7–4–0 record, backed by an impressive .918 save percentage, a 2.10 goals-against average, and three shutouts. For a young netminder adjusting to the pro game, those numbers are eye-catching.

Before turning professional, Fowler built his reputation at Boston College, where he delivered an outstanding season. In 35 games, he recorded a stellar 25–7–2 record, a 1.63 GAA, and a .940 save percentage, cementing his status as one of the top goaltenders in collegiate hockey.

With elite numbers at every level and a rapid rise through the rankings, Fowler stands out as one of the Canadiens’ brightest prospects — and one of the most promising young goalies in the sport today.
