The Los Angeles Dodgers have done it again — back-to-back World Series champions after an unforgettable, 11-inning Game 7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday night.
Following the dramatic finish, Hall of Famer David Ortiz didn’t hold back his praise. Speaking on FOX’s postgame show, Ortiz called the Dodgers a “dynasty in the making.”
“The Dodgers are building up a dynasty,” Ortiz said. “You can’t get a better ballclub than the one they’ve had for the past five or six years.”
And it’s hard to argue. Over the last two offseasons, the Dodgers have assembled what might be the deepest roster in baseball history. They’ve added global superstar Shohei Ohtani, power bat Teoscar Hernández, Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, plus Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and Roki Sasaki — all while keeping an elite core of Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, and Will Smith.
“They know how to put it together,” Ortiz added. “They’ve got a great front office, a great manager, and great players. That’s what happens when all the pieces fit.”
Los Angeles’ success doesn’t just rest on its veterans. The club also boasts seven top-100 prospects according to MLB.com — ensuring that the dynasty Ortiz spoke of could last for years.
With their ninth World Series title secured and third under manager Dave Roberts, the Dodgers now look ahead to 2026. Their mission: chase what hasn’t been done in 25 years — three straight championships, a feat last achieved by the late-90s Yankees dynasty from 1998–2000.
The MLB offseason begins with the Dodgers on top once again, their blend of superstars and rising talent setting the standard for what a modern baseball powerhouse looks like.
